A couple of facts:
* [according to my WP Admin Side info] the latest update is four months old
* latest blog story is written Feb 1, 2016. Over year and a half.
* latest roadmap action Feb. 2016?
I’m now lookin’ for a solution to last something like 5–10 YEARS. I don’t need all the bells and whistles (that is, Premiere BR), but at least the basic upgrades would be essential, following the WordPress improvement in the future.
So. BR is not my solution, right? 🙂

I’m currently waiting to see how the Gutenberg project plays out. I’ve started experimenting with the idea of creating a book review as a “block”. But it’s early stages and we’ll see how that goes.
I’ve been a bit dissatisfied with not having built the plugin to use custom post types. Given this, and with the changes that are coming to the WordPress editor, I’m leaning towards releasing an entirely new version of the Book Review plugin that is not backwards compatible.October 9, 2017 at 5:46 am #4228jartsevParticipant
Thx for your quick reply.
That Gutenberg thing… oh dear. Hadn’t notice. Looks pretty terrible to me, as I have a lot of customers using WP and WooCommerce-driven shops too.
Back to my needs. My basic book collections data — and the same with movies and vinyl albums — is handled now by Excel. Question is, how I would easily import them into the WP blog: dropping some part, adding (partly) pics and synopsis and/or reviews; dividing it 1–6 sections (pages). Smells like paid Import Premiere plugin…
In fact, I’m after some kind of tiny database solution, like »Access Light in WordPress». Should be possible, as WP itself runs via MySQL.
Thx. I’ll keep on eye on you. 🙂
