Awesome. If I can use it without the IP, that works great. Thank you for your help.
I definitely have Books API enabled. And it is definitely a server key. I just created a new key (Credentials> Add Credentials> API Key> Server key> My Site’s IP Address, Save, Save) and it still isn’t working. The only thing I can think of it that that IP address is being blocked for some reason either on my hosts side or Google’s.
That one worked fine. My key must be jacked. =\
Tried that a few times today, with no luck.
Here is my URL: http://heatherstitches.com/
IP address: 18.104.22.168
I put the country as USA, cause that’s where I am.
I’ve tried a few ISBNs, including: 0307588378, 0525478817, 1409132889, etc. Like I said, the Google Developer Consoles sees the requests, but it says “Client Error”.
Well, I set it up fine, but I’m getting this error whenever I try to put in an ISBN:
Sorry, but something went wrong. Please check to ensure that you have entered your Google API Key correctly on the Advanced tab of the Book Review Settings, and that you have selected a Country from the dropdown.
Please also check to ensure that the correct IP address of your server has been entered into the Google Developers Console. See the documentation for more information.
If you are still having trouble, please leave a message in the General Support forum. Be sure to include the URL of your web site in your post. Thanks!
I have double checked the IP and key and they are right. I can see, in the API Usage area of the Developer Console, that it is getting requests, but the response code is “Client Error” for each instance.
Nevermind. Turns out it was a browser issue. The “APIs & auth” still isn’t there, of course, but the section I needed wouldn’t load in this browser for some reason. But I switched and found the API fine.
